Key Features

1. Command-Based Architecture

Similar to git, docker, kubectl - modular and extensible

2. Rich Option Parsing

Each command has its own options via OptionParser

3. Comprehensive Testing

Minitest suite with colored output and slowest test reporting

4. Sample Data

Realistic stock data for 4 tech stocks over 16 months

Next Steps to Enable Analysis Commands

The CLI framework is complete. To enable the analysis commands (analyze, backtest, etc.), the SQA gem needs its dependencies installed:

# Option 1: Install in SQA gem directory
cd ../sqa/main && bundle install && cd -

# Option 2: Add to sqa-cli Gemfile
gem 'amazing_print'
gem 'csv'

See STATUS.md for detailed information about the SQA gem integration status.

Documentation

  • README.md - Project overview and architecture
  • USAGE_EXAMPLES.md - Comprehensive command examples
  • STATUS.md - Current status and next steps
  • data/README.md - Sample data documentation

Testing

# Run all tests
bundle exec rake test

# Run with verbose output
bundle exec rake test TESTOPTS="--verbose"

What's Been Completed

  • ✅ Full CLI infrastructure
  • ✅ All 7 commands implemented
  • ✅ Command dispatcher and routing
  • ✅ Option parsing for each command
  • ✅ Base command class with shared functionality
  • ✅ Comprehensive test suite (all passing)
  • ✅ Sample data for 4 stocks (377 days each)
  • ✅ Portfolio data in CSV and JSON
  • ✅ Complete documentation

Summary

The sqa-cli project is a fully functional CLI application with all infrastructure in place. The framework successfully: - Routes commands - Parses options - Loads sample data files - Passes all tests

The analysis commands are implemented and ready to use once the SQA gem is properly configured with its dependencies.
